Karongwe - meaning the place of meeting - is a world-class Big Five private game reserve set within the Kruger to Canyons UNESCO Biosphere, at the foot of the Drakensberg mountains. The reserve operates a curated collection of lodges and private villas across 7,200 hectares. Acquired by Amara in 2024, a proactive ownership approach is driving strong year-on-year revenue growth, with an ongoing land assembly programme targeting a consolidated reserve of over 16,000 hectares.

Mixed-Use Real Estate Development

A once-in-a-generation redevelopment of the iconic Bergkelder precinct in Stellenbosch - home to the historic Fleur du Cap wine cellar founded by Dr Anton Rupert in 1968. The 12.7-hectare site will be transformed into a landmark mixed-use precinct of up to 190,000 m² combining commercial, retail, hospitality, and residential. Acquired in May 2026, the project is progressing through its pre-development phase, targeting commencement of a first phase of development in 2027.

In South Africa, Amara is a capital partner to Mobilis Auto, a fast-growing automotive retail and mobility group operating 22 franchise dealerships across the East Rand of Johannesburg, with the prospect to deliver exponential growth.
